Management Server Cannot Be Reached. Check Your Management Configuration and Try Again.

  1. Default Smart Dashboard cannot connect to Management server

    How-do-you-do!

I installed R75.twenty management server on Windows 2008 R2. This server is management server for two security gateways/appliances based on Secure Platform OS. At present, when I endeavour to connect to Management server from Smart Dashboard on any machine on local or remote network, I go error

Connexion cannot exist initiated. Delight make sure that the server x.ten.x.10 is up and running and that you are divers as a GUI client.

It works well only when I launch local Smart Panel on management server.
I checked cpconfig for defined GUI clients. Likewise checked Implied rules and can confirm that CPMI conection from GUI customer to Management server is allowed. In global properties accept control connections is checked.

Can it be problem regarding SIC connection between Smart Panel and Security management server?
If anyone take thought how to solve this trouble, please help.

    All-time regards

    Dejan

There's no Windows Firewall on the box is there preventing the connexion.

I take it that the Management Server and Gateway connectivity is correctly working?

  3. Default Re: Smart Dashboard cannot connect to Management server

I'k having similar issue here. I've just reinstalled R60 in VirtualBox and somehow I can't access to SmartDashboard anymore. I was able to admission it earlier. There is no network issue equally I can ping from SmartDashboard to Management Server and vice versa.
I'k able to access the web admission and found the GUI client is defined correctly.
Is at that place anything else I can do to fix this result?

    SmartDashboard = 192.168.10.10
    Management Server = 192.168.10.254

Make sure the fwm process is upwardly and running on the Security Management Server. Also cheque out the contents of the $FWDIR/log/fwm.elg file, if fwm is unable to start or is running but not able to accept GUI connections you should see something in the log to that result. If fwm is up and running and you aren't seeing an indication of the problem in $FWDIR/log/fwm.elg then run these commands on the SMS:

    fw debug fwm on
(Try to connect with the GUI and lookout man it neglect)
    fw debug fwm off

Now bank check the contents of the $FWDIR/log/fwm.elg file, you should definitely see an indication of the trouble at that point.

If fwm is not running at all, run information technology yourself with debugging enabled like this:

    fwm -d

and observe the debugging output for clues.

    Hi,

I solved trouble changing gui-customer file that is located at conf directory. I don't know why, just from some reason this file was not updated with content of cpconfig settings of GUI clients.
Additional affair that block connection to management server was Windows firewall. I merely added two inbound rules that allow CPMI(tcp 18190) and FWlogg(tcp 257) connections.
    It's working at present.

    Thank you

Thanks ShadowPeak.com for your advice. Btw, I've rebooted both SmartDashboard and Management server, and somehow for unknown reason, I was able to connect back to Management server via SmartDashboard client.
